A digital wellness workshop at JCSU.

Chanel Probst. She’s powerful. She’s about her business. She’s compassionate and sincere. And her circle of leaders reflects that. I am grateful to have worked with her, to befriend her, and to be a part of Honest Conversations. Our goal was to be a part of these college freshmen girl’s lives at the illustrious HBCU, Johnson C. Smith University in downtown Charlotte, NC.

Every week, we sat down for some real talk. Guided by prompts that pushed us to be vulnerable and exercises that brought out the good, the bad and everything in between. We discussed the difficulties of navigating college, life, love and social media. As much as I taught the girls, I learned more from them. They are confident, verbose, vulnerable, strong, and intelligent. And each week of the semester, I saw their growth. I’m proud to be a small part of it.
